Coming up: History News This Week - Episode: 003

Namaste Friends. My name is 'Shinil Subramanian Payamal' and you are listening to the Historylogy podcast.

Welcome to the 3rd episode of History News This Week.

First up is news from Britain.

Buckingham Palace has refused to return the body of an Ethiopian prince who was buried at Windsor Castle in the 19th century.

A descendant of Prince Alemayehu – an orphan who was adored and supported financially by Queen Victoria and died at the age of 18 – has demanded that his remains be returned to Ethiopia.

But Buckingham Palace has maintained that removing the body would affect others buried in the catacombs of St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Second is from Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, India.

Environmentalist and fossil researcher Professor Suresh Chopane has discovered fossils of Glossopteris plant leaves near Bhadravati in Chandrapur district. As per Chopane the fossils are from the Permian to Jurassic period meaning they date back to a period between 298 millions years ago to 145 million years ago.

The third is about a new trend amongst the super-rich which is not a mega-yacht or sports car, but a dinosaur: the bigger and fiercer the better. This report has been published in ‘The Times.’

Coming to the latest book release, the Hindi version of Sanjeev Sanyal’s ‘Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom’ titled ‘क्रांतिकारी : भारत के स्वतंत्रता संग्राम की अलग कहानी’ is scheduled to release on the 29th of May, 2023. It has a printed price of Rs. 399/- but available for pre-order for only Rs. 365/- and the same book is available for a lesser price on Hindueshop.com for only Rs. 339/-.
