Coming up: History News This Week - Episode: 004
Namaste Friends. My name is 'Shinil Subramanian Payamal' and you are listening to the Historylogy podcast.
Welcome to the 4th episode of History News This Week. Please note that History News This Week will be online every Sunday at 09:30 PM Indian Standard Time i.e. 04:00 PM GMT.
First up is news from Pune, India.
Petroglyphs, ancient carvings etched into rocks, have been discovered in the Sinhagad Fort range hills of Pune city, sparking debates about their age and origins. Some experts suggest that these petroglyphs could date back to approximately 5,000 years ago, potentially placing them in the prehistoric era.
Second news is from Bohuslän, Sweden where on a steep rock face, researchers uncovered a fascinating find: around 40 petroglyphs — depicting ships, people and animal figures — dating back around 2,700 years.
Third is from south west England where a marble slab of Buddha from ancient China which was found propped against the fireplace in a quaint English cottage sells for £554K.
The 4th and last news is about researchers who have discovered Greece's oldest archaeological site, dating back to 700,000 years ago, containing rough stone tools from the Lower Palaeolithic period and the remains of extinct animals.
Coming to the latest book release, I had mentioned in the 2nd episode of ‘History News This Book’ about Manoj Dani’s latest book in Marathi titled ‘अज्ञात पानिपत’ and it is scheduled to release on the 11th of June and is available for pre-order on Amazon India for only Rs. 900/- and it is already on #10 under the ‘Amazon Hot New Releases’ category.
