Coming up: Top 5 Most Anticipated Indian History Books of 2024

Namaste Friends. My name is 'Shinil Subramanian Payamal' and you are listening to the Historylogy podcast.

Since today is the 1st of January, 2024, I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year 2024 once again.

Today being the first day of the calendar year, I thought I should share with you the top 5 most anticipated Indian history books of 2024 according to me, which I am really looking forward to reading this year.

At number 5 is Ruby Lal’s ‘Vagabond Princess: The Great Adventures of Gulbadan’ which is scheduled to release on the 27th of February, 2024. The book can be pre-ordered on Amazon India, though currently it is unavailable but it is available for pre-order on Amazon USA. I have provided the links in the show notes.

At number 4 is J. Sai Deepak’s third part in a 4 part series which is scheduled to release sometime in the first quarter of 2024. I am sure, the 3rd part will be as good, if not better, than the first two parts.

At number 3 is Dr. Vikram Sampath’s ‘Waiting for Shiva: Unearthing the Truth of Kashi’s Gyan Vapi’ which is scheduled to release on the 28th of February, 2024 and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon India. I have provided the link in the show notes.

At number 2 is Dr. Meenakshi Jain’s next. I don’t have any details of the exact release date nor of the topic, but I am sure, it will be an excellent book, just like her previous works.

And the number 1 most anticipated Indian history book of the year is Dr. Uday S. Kulkarni’s ‘Raghoba: The Assassination of Narayan Rao Peshwa, Volume One: Fallen Greatness.’ Volume one of the trilogy features an annotated account of the assassination of Narayan Rao Peshwa. The book is scheduled to release in mid-2024.

I am pretty sure there will be many more interesting Indian history books scheduled to release in 2024 about which I have no idea. I would love to be pleasantly surprised by them.
